EMPOWER project

Infinitivity Design Labs (IDL) contributes to dissemination, communication, and digital learning design within the EMPOWER Erasmus+ project, supporting the development of engaging educational content and outreach activities.

The EMPOWER project (Enhancing Mentorship and Professional Opportunities for Women through Education and Role-modeling in ICT) is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership (Project No. 101195957) running from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2028.

Project summary

EMPOWER addresses gender disparities in ICT education by combining gender-sensitive teacher training with role model engagement from female ICT professionals. Its core ambition is to foster inclusive learning environments and increase girls’ participation in ICT across Europe.

The project focuses on three key areas:

Gender Diversity Training for Teachers – supports educators in applying inclusive, gender-sensitive teaching practices.

Role Model Activities – connects students with female ICT professionals to inspire career pathways.

Evaluation Framework – applies a policy experimentation approach to assess impact through pilot and large-scale implementation.

The project’s main objectives include:

  • Identifying barriers to girls’ participation in ICT
  • Developing and piloting inclusive educational practices
  • Engaging role models to motivate students
  • Evaluating impact and supporting education policy

Expected outcomes:

  • Increased awareness of gender bias in education
  • Improved engagement of girls in ICT subjects
  • Adoption of inclusive teaching practices
  • Policy recommendations for gender equality in ICT

Partners

The EMPOWER consortium is coordinated by the Institute of Entrepreneurship Development – iED (Greece) and includes the following partners: University of Crete (Greece), Provincia di Salerno (Italy), Institute of Educational Policy (Greece), Infinitivity Design Labs – IDL (France), University of Iceland (Iceland), GrantXpert Consulting Ltd (Cyprus), Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth (Cyprus), COSVITEC Società Consortile ARL (Italy), CIIM Innovations Ltd (Cyprus), and the Center for the Study of Democracy (Bulgaria).
